Want to Volunteer?
If you’d like to be a part of Out in Education, whether as a speaker in the classrooms we visit, a social media manager or doing general behind the scenes work, we are always looking for more people.
We accept current University of Nottingham students (both undergrad and postgrad) as we are primarily a student-led volunteering project. We also believe that this allows our workshops to be presented by people who have fresh memories of the classroom and so can interact with pupils honestly and sincerely.
A branch of Out in Education is also currently being setup at Loughborough University by the Loughborough LGBT+ Association.
To find out when our next training session is taking place, or if you have any questions about volunteering, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Training sessions are compulsory for anyone wishing to visit schools, and usually last no more than 2 hours.
If you are a member of the University of Nottingham Student’s Union, we also recommend that you join our SU page (it’s completely free!) by logging in with your university credentials.
Current and former volunteers can join our LinkedIn page to discuss employability skills developed whilst working with Out in Education and to gain resources for your CV. Membership will also be displayed on your LinkedIn profile. See conditions for approval on the group description.
